The picturesque holiday resort of Weggis is located on the shores of Lake Lucerne and at the foot of the famous Rigi, also known as the 'Queen of Mountains'. With its mild climate, the resort is often referred to as the 'Riviera of central Switzerland'. Weggis's idyllic lakeside promenade, with its various cafes, shops, hotels and restaurants, offers panoramic views over the lake and surrounding mountains to anyone strolling along the waterfront. The fourth largest lake in the country is always one of the most beautiful and is just a stones throw away from Weggis. Encircled by mountainous landscapes, Lake Lucerne offers stunning, scenic views which are best viewed on a boat cruises on board one of the historic paddle wheel steamers.
This trail is a must-do for all walking and hiking enthusiasts. Stretching across a total of 10.4km, hikiners trail along traditional paths from Weggis to Rigi Kulm.
