Royal Caribbean has certainly smashed the myth that ‘cruising is boring’ out of the water. The ships in their fleet are not only some of the largest in the world (including the largest, Symphony of the Seas) but also some of the most exciting, jam-packed with an ever-growing list of attractions for the whole family to enjoy.
From first-at-sea experience that make you say “you can do that on a cruise ship” to themed dining venues and neighbourhoods that make you forget you’re even at sea, you’ll never be stuck for something to do whilst on board. Royal Caribbean aim to make your cruise holiday feel extraordinary, allowing you to escape everyday life and enjoy those ‘wow’ moments.
Technology plays a big part in this too. Whether it’s the robotic bartenders in the Bionic Bar, the wristbands you wear to access your cabin and pay for drinks, or the innovative staging in the Two70 theatre space, boundaries are constantly being pushed and new ground always broken.
Royal Caribbean cruise all over the world and their cruise liners are amongst the largest in the world. Onboard activities range from ice skating, surfing simulators, zip lines, waterparks, 3D cinema, rock climbing walls and much much more.
Family cruises are a particular speciality of Royal Caribbean and your little ones will be able to take part in a wealth of activities including eating breakfast with the characters from Dreamworks.
Royal Caribbean cruises have a variety of staterooms for families catering from between four and 16 guests. Each cruise cabin has full bathroom facilities with a shower, TV, telephone and safe. Room service is available 24 hours a day on all cruises.
There are a wide array of cabin types; interior, ocean view and balconies overlooking either the ocean or the Royal Promenade. Two storey loft suites are also available on some cruise ships, giving fantastic views of the ocean as you cruise. Staterooms catering for large groups and families and accessible rooms are also provided on many cruises.
Royal Caribbean cruises feature are a sparkling range of high quality dining opportunities. From the main dining room to more speciality options. There are a wide range of casual dining options on all cruises in the form of café’s and Sorrento’s pizzeria.
Family dining is not a problem on board a Royal Caribbean cruise. You can eat kid friendly meals such as hotdog and fries at Johnny Rockets, eat breakfast with the DreamWorksTM characters from Shrek, and Madagascar and be rest assured that children aged 3 – 11 will be served quickest in the main dining room. They can then be collected directly by the Adventure Ocean® Kids Club team while you enjoy the rest of your meal in peace. You can also enjoy cupcakes at the Cupcake Cupboard shop and Ben and Jerry® Ice Creams at the Ice Cream parlour on many Royal Caribbean cruises.
Royal Caribbean cruises are designed with families in mind and provide amazing facilities specifically for families. You can climb a rock wall, go surfing on the ‘Flowrider’, shoot some hoops on the basketball court or enjoy the mini water park with water cannons, waterfalls, fountains and geysers on many Royal Caribbean cruises.
Activities do vary per cruise ship; Oasis Class, Freedom Class and Voyager Class cruise ships have ice skating rinks with lessons available; Splendour of the Seas and Legend of the Seas have golf courses
Enjoy DreamWorksTM films onboard in the 3D cinema or on the TV in your stateroom. There is further entertainment from the DreamWorksTM characters in spectacular ice shows on the Allure of the Seas, water shows on the Oasis Class ships and the ships parade.
Every Royal Caribbean cruise liner has a wide range of pools, including an adults only pool for pure escapism. Other facilities include, spa treatments, salon, sauna, solarium, library, jogging track and fitness centre.

Royal Caribbean cruises host the Adventure Ocean® programmes to keep your tots to teens occupied all day. There are interactive play sessions for ‘Royal Babies’ and ‘Royal Tots’ from 6 months to 36 months old so kids and parents can play together with other families or for a little extra cost you can drop your little one in the nursery for a few hours where you can rest assured they will be cared for by fully trained members of staff. A babysitting service is also provided at extra cost.

Old teens can enjoy a vast programme of activities including rock climbing, pool parties, movie nights, karaoke and barbecues. There are also teen-only hang outs on board where teens can make new friends and hang out in their own environment with plenty to do including a teen-only nightclub which continues until late.
Royal Caribbean have created a vast array of excursions on-shore for all to enjoy including swimming with dolphins, 4x4 driving experiences, scuba diving, sightseeing tours and much more. You can pre-book your excursion before departure to avoid all the hassle and queues. Headsets are provided on many excursions to ensure you never miss what your tour guide is saying. Private and custom tours are also possible if you are looking for something special.
