You may well have deliberated in the past in regards to whether you should or shouldn’t choose to pre-pay for beverages but, ultimately, this will usually save you money in the long run. However, if you are sailing with P&O Cruises in the near future, the decision has just been made a whole lot easier.

Having revamped their drinks packages, the cruise line is aiming to offer more value for money to cruisers and has created the different options in response to feedback from previous customers. Four packages will soon be available, allowing you to find the one which suits you best and not waste money on something you have no intention of using.

An Awesome Foursome

As long as your cruise is five nights or longer, you can select either the Ultimate, Non-alcoholic, Hot or Children’s Drinks Package and be able to grab whatever you have a craving for in all of the restaurants, bars and cafés found throughout each vessel. It’s now so easy to tailor your cruise to your own preferences.

The Ultimate Drinks Package will cost £39.95pp per night and will include anything you could wish for from cocktails to coffee and from bottled water to bottled beers. The only exceptions are menu items priced at £6.95 or higher, but you will receive a 20% discount on these. The Ultimate Drinks Package is a great choice for couples with children staying in their cabin as it automatically includes the Children’s Drinks Package detailed below.

If you’re more into mocktails than cocktails, the Non-Alcoholic Drinks Package has you covered for soft drinks, teas, coffees and water. Costing £19.95pp per night, you can enjoy unlimited refreshment around the pool without having to worry about the bill at the end. Bottled soft drinks and larger servings are excluded, but a 20% discount is offered on these.

Some Like It Hot

If you know you’ll be primarily drinking hot drinks, why not opt for the Hot Drinks Package? With a wide range of Costa coffees, Teapigs teas and delicious hot chocolates to choose from, you can start and finish your day like you would at home – with a nice, warm brew. Primo sizes are all included and you’ll get a 20% discount for any large or medio sized drinks that are not part of this £10.95pp per night package.

Finally, children can look forward to as much juice, lemonade, Pepsi, tonic and soda as they want with a drinks package made especially for them. However, there is no age limit on this option, so you’re free to choose it for yourself if you know you’re only going to be having soft drinks. With a price of just £7.95pp per night, it’s great value for money and it’s even included already when an adult in the same cabin purchases an Ultimate Drinks Package.
