Saga Cruises

In 1996, Saga brought its experienced and assured brand of travel options for the over 50s to the seas. Just as you would expect, everything is tailor-made for travellers in this age bracket, including a high number of cruises sailing directly from the UK and the fact that so much is included as standard.

There's also a big focus on making sure solo cruisers are welcomed just as warmly. Single cabins ensure you don't need to pay a supplement and activities like the 'Singles Mingle' drinks party and 'Singles Lunch' mean there are plenty of opportunities to meet fellow cruisers.

The boutique fleet carries no more than 999 passengers per vessel, meaning space is high but the ships themselves are still compact. The destinations visited cover regions such as the Mediterranean, Caribbean and the Norwegian fjords, with a wide range of itineraries that even include excursions.

The ships in the fleet have been designed with UK passengers in mind. Everything from their size to the decor in each cabin has been carefully considered, resulting in a range of public spaces that are both comfortable and exciting in equal measure.

No matter which ship you choose, you will be able to look forward to watching the world go by from your own private balcony. Cabin features include complimentary Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. Splash out on a suite and you can add a walk-in wardrobe, espresso machine, butler service, living area and much more to that list.

Entertainment venues throughout the fleet also have a quintessentially British feel, whether you're enjoying the music in Jools Holland's The Club or simply sippy a cocktail in The Living Room on board Spirit of Adventure. Of course, there are plenty of ways to be more exotic too. An evening of fine dining at East To West will certainly spice up your cruise.

Each ship has plenty of dining options available, encompassing British classics and flavours from around the world. Venues like The Club, The Grand Dining Room and Amalfi bring some elegance to any evening and the menu options will allow you to indulge a key passion of almost every cruiser - enjoying high-quality cuisine.

Plus, there's no need to worry about how much all of this is going to cost. All of your dining and all but a select few drinks options are covered by Saga's all-inclusive offering, leaving you to forget about drinks bills and focus on having a great holiday.

As well as your luxurious cabin and the spectacular dining venues, there are also several places to unwind and pamper yourself. That pampering may come in the form of a treatment in The Spa, some time in The Salon or some yoga in the Fitness Centre, but either way, it will ensure that looking after your well-being is high on your priorities during your cruise.

Evenings can be spent enjoying extravagant performances in The Playhouse theatre or live music in The Club. Elsewhere, the Craft Room provides somewhere to show off your artistic flair, whilst The Library supplies a coffee shop-like atmosphere in which to lose yourself in a good book.

From 2021 onwards, Saga Cruises' all-inclusive offering is even better value for money. Depending on the length of your holiday, you could enjoy up to six complimentary shore excursions that allow you to see more of your chosen destination and get a better idea of the local culture. These activities could be anything from a simple city tour to an all-action trekking adventure that will really get the pulse racing.

Saga's Explore Ashore service adds an extra layer of discovery to the shore excursions. By speaking to the knowledgeable destination experts at the travel desk, you can arrange small group tours that show you something different and take you off the typical tourist route.
