Enjoy These Fantastic Shore Excursions On P&O Cruises’ New Winter 2020/21 Itineraries
If you’re already planning ahead to winter 2020 then we have some great news for you. P&O Cruises has just announced its new campaign for late next year and early 2021.

If you’re already planning ahead to winter 2020 then we have some great news for you. P&O Cruises has just announced its new campaign for late next year and early 2021. The current ships in the fleet and the forthcoming Iona will be stationed all over the globe for the season, offering a variety of adventures from the Caribbean to Copenhagen.

The line-up of cruises includes short breaks of just two nights alongside mammoth circumnavigations like Arcadia’s 99-night cruise in January 2021 – and lots in between. Highlights of the campaign include 23 overnight stays, giving more time to explore the port in daylight and after dark, and additional late-night departures that extended your time in a destination into the evening. You could find yourself admiring Alta, musing over Muscat and dallying in Dubai for much longer than a usual cruise visit.

Plus, to celebrate launching the new schedule, there are a number of great deals of which you can take advantage. These include up to 10% discounts when you book by 29th April 2019, deposits as low as 5%, and third and fourth guest spaces from just £1pp. That means families with up to two kids or groups of friends that don’t mind sharing a cabin can look forward to significant savings.

With every new season comes some wonderful shore excursions that help you get the most out of each destination. With that in mind, here are some great activities that may be available on your winter 2020/21 cruise.

St. Kitts Railway

Swap the ship for a train as you travel along the north-eastern coast of St. Kitts to see the diverse landscape. A near three-hour tour combines a journey on the narrow gauge railway with a shorter coach trip taking you through local villages, lush rainforests and sugar cane plantations. The railway was originally built to carry the sugar cane to the capital of Basseterre but is now a very popular tourist attraction. You can choose to climb up to the open-air top deck or sip a complimentary rum punch in the parlour below. Both Britannia and Azura will be positioned in the Caribbean for winter 2020/21.

Lisbon Sights And Amphibious Duck

As one of the newest shore excursions offered by P&O Cruises, this tour gives you a chance to see Lisbon by road and from the River Tagus. But you won’t be climbing on board a river ship at any point; your amphibious ‘duck’ will drive straight into the water for a relaxed and unique look at Portugal’s capital. This activity will be offered on board the exciting new ship Iona, as she spends her winter in Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands.

Orchard Cider Farm, St Peter Port

Cider Orchard

As in previous years, Ventura will be spending her winter offering short breaks in Northern Europe. This is a great way to experience a small dose of cruising if you are unsure if it’s right for you, or the perfect opportunity to head to cities like Bruges and Hamburg and experience the Christmas markets.

Some itineraries will feature St Peter Port on the island of Guernsey, giving you the chance to visit the orchard where they make Rocquette Cider. After your tour, there will be plenty of time to taste the delicious final product along with some local cheese.

Dubai Marina XLine

Zip Line Dubai

Dubai is home to some amazing attractions that are bigger and better than anywhere else in the world. You can climb to the top of the tallest building on the planet, make a splash in a number of different water parks, head off into the desert for a 4x4 safari or get your pulse racing on the Dubai Marina XLine. This is the longest urban zipline in the world and will send you shooting down to ground level from a height of 170 metres at a top speed of 50 mph. If you are looking for Gulf cruises in 2020/21, Oceana is the ship for you.

Reindeer Sledging, Tromso

Reindeer Sledging

Iona will obviously be spending her debut season in the Norwegian fjords, but when she departs for Northern Europe, there is still a chance to visit Norway in 2020. Either side of her 65-night Grand Tour, Aurora will be taking guests into the Arctic Circle in the hope of spotting the Northern Lights. Whilst in Tromso, you can take part in reindeer sledging through the snowy tundra. As well as gliding past the beautiful scenery, you’ll learn about the culture of the Sami tribe and warm up with refreshments around a log fire.

If you are tempted by some of the 2020 cruises that are available, this new P&O Cruises campaign will go on general sale from 21st March 2019, but pre-registration can be done now. Members of P&O Cruises’ loyalty program will also get earlier access depending on the level they have reached.
