The Clermont Auvergne Métropole is a metropolis centred on the city of Clermont-Ferrand in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, central France. There are many thermal spas here including Royat Spa and Royatonic – both of which can be found in Royat – Chamalières.
Thermes de Royat has many sources including Source Auraline, Caesar and Eugenie, which provide the spa with mineral-rich thermal waters that have encouraged 9,000 people to visit this spa every year. The research department has teamed up with the Clermont-Ferrand University to see whether these medical waters can help treat knee osteoarthritis, as they already help with rheumatologically conditions and cardio-arterial diseases. This spa provides a wide variety of facilities including a thermal gas bath, steam shower and pools.
After your visit to the spa, there are a few museums located nearby, one of them being the Bargoin Museum, which has two sections – archaeology and textile. This museum showcases the Arvne territory and the European textiles designed between the 18th and 21st centuries.
