Finding a holiday option that keeps all members of the family entertained is certainly not an easy task, but Disney Cruise Line may have the answer in 2017. The line's 2,400-passenger Disney Magic will be embarking on three unique itineraries out of Dover, providing a cruise that will leave you feeling truly enchanted.
This vessel has been designed specifically with families in mind and has plenty for both adults and children to enjoy. Spectacular shows, amazing recreational areas, sumptuous restaurants and, of course, the chance to meet your favourite Disney characters will ensure a fun-filled holiday that all the family can enjoy.
The Magic of Disney Magic
Combining nostalgic elements with all the modern amenities you would expect from a resort, Disney Magic provides a portal into a world of fantasy, where dreams really can come true. With ten expansive decks to explore, there is plenty of magic to be discovered on board. Children aged 3-12 can explore their imaginations in the Oceaneer Club, where they will find a number of interactive experiences.
Andy's Room, based on the bedroom from Toy Story, enables children to feel toy-sized and play with a number of characters from the film franchise including Rex the Dinosaur, Hamm the piggy bank, Slinky the dog and Mr Potato Head. Children looking to enter a magical world of fairies and visit Tinker Bell in her forest setting of Pixie Hollow, while those aspiring to be a super hero can head to MARVEL's Avengers Academy - where they can meet Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and many more favourite characters.
During warm days on the top deck, there are plenty of places to soak up the sun, while thrill-seeking passengers can take advantage of the towering three-storey AquaDunk slide. This impressive series of looping transparent tubes will see you launched from the ship's highest point on a 212-foot ride that includes many twists and turns, some of which extend over the side of the ship!
Teens and tweens are also well catered for within the exclusive areas of Edge and Vibe, where they can socialise with like-minded cruisers in a chilled environment. Meanwhile, parents can enjoy a spot of private time together in one of the exclusive bars and lounges or over a fabulous meal in the adult-exclusive Palo restaurant, where fine Italian décor meets superb Italian cuisine.
Families can reunite for one of the many live shows, which are performed in the Walt Disney Theatre. These spectacular shows include 'Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story' and Disney Dreams - An Enchanted Classic. Alternatively, families can head to the Buena Vista Theatre and watch a classic Disney film under the stars. An absolute must, however, is being able to capture a photo during a meet-and-greet with your favourite Disney characters.
At the end of each day on board, families will be able to rest safe in the knowledge that they have a comfortable place to recharge batteries. Each grade of stateroom provides plenty of space and there are a plethora of options available for families - with verandah staterooms accommodating three to five people and featuring a private balcony.
