A commune in France, Bagnères-de-Luchon is widely known for its thermal spas and ski resorts that conduct extreme winter sports. This town, located in the valley of the L’One River, is famous for its Vaporarium, a natural steam room that acts as Europe’s only underground hammam.
The Luchon Form and Wellbeing spa has pools with temperatures of up to 43 degrees Celsius that also provide an amazing view of the mountains surrounding the complex. Within this area is the Vaporarium, where 72-degree water is filtered through the walls to help tourists with any issues concerning weight balance, skin hydration and muscle tension. Tickets cost €15 per person to visit both the natural steam room and the 34-degree communal baths. Massages and beauty treatments are also available within the spa.
Badech Lake should also be on your list of places to see when you visit Luchon, especially as it’s right next door to the thermal spa. You can walk around, feeding the ducks and swans, or stroll along the paved pedestrian promenade that’s also great for cyclists.
