At Fred. Olsen Business Travel we have the benefit of an unbiased computerised reservation system (CRS) called Sabre. Sabre allows our staff to search the airlines, world-wide for routes to your preferred destination. Our system can obtain real-time availability ensuring that the fares given are the most up to date.
Complex itineraries are required more and more frequently. We utilise our systems and experience to offer the best seat for you. Whether it is based on fare or routing, our choice of airlines and fares are considerable from upper class tickets to low cost, ‘no frills’ airlines we’ve got it covered.
Our CRS displays availability by class and indicates to our staff the conditions and limitations associated with the reservation. As a general rule, fixed fares booked well in advance will be cheaper, but there will be penalties for changing.
The most expensive ticket prices are associated with fully flexible, fully changeable and fully transferable tickets.
Fred. Olsen Business Travel also have access to Net tickets. These tickets will produce substantial cost savings, but will be more restricted and will carry penalties for cancellation or change. More importantly, this type of ticket will not be transferable to another carrier.
No-Frills Carriers provide competitive ticket prices but may involve use of airports remote from city centres. Fares normally increase closer to the departure date and become less competitive with the schedule carriers. The majority of carriers allow name and flight changes – at a cost. Taxes for unused or cancelled flights are not returned. Fred. Olsen Business Travel will search all available methods to meet a preferred itinerary. In some cases and to meet timing constraints, the ideal solution may require a mix of low-cost and schedule carrier.
There are various internet search engines in the market-place that purport to offer all options. Net and consolidated fares would not necessarily be available to them. Also, many of the sites are biased, and some do not offer last-minute availability. None that we know will allow an option to be held. Their systems depend on confirmed bookings. This practice runs counter to the norm in business travel, where last-minute changes are inevitable and part and parcel of the business travel trade.
Dynamic packaging is a system where all elements of travel (air, car-hire and hotel) are offered from one source but by separate suppliers. No single agency takes responsibility for all the elements – it is a case of ‘buyer beware’ in the event that not all the elements are produced. Changes to one element will not be triggered by changes in another.

With a vast choice of hotel rates at our disposal, Fred. Olsen Business Travel can reserve 5-Star exclusive resorts, smaller guesthouses, country retreats and airport hotels.
We are able to secure reservations on either a guaranteed or pre-paid basis with hotels in the UK and throughout the world. Searches on our computer reservation system for hotel availability will give access to a hotel’s own live inventory and will offer the cheapest rate available.
The standard or rack rate is not always the best value, neither will the corporate rate as many hotels discount their rates depending on occupancy and season. Special offers will be presented to our staff during the initial search, and these will be quoted at the time.
Fred. Olsen Business Travel will also book a pre-negotiated rate that may have been established by a company or one of its subsidiaries or clients
Where possible, we will help to negotiate a preferred rate where the number of room-nights would merit such a rate. Hotel payment is normally settled on departure when queries can be addressed by the client and hotel staff directly. However, we can also offer a bill back service subject to conditions
Finding a parking space at a supermarket can be difficult enough, let alone at a busy airport!
At Fred. Olsen Business Travel we can pre-book secure airport parking at all UK airports, making your travel experience run smoothly. Special rates are usually available if you book up to 7 days before travel and space is guaranteed. This can be invaluable, especially at peak times.
For that extra convenience why not experience a meet and greet valet service. Available at most airports, the meet and greet service allows you to drive to your departure terminal, drop your keys at reception and head straight to check-in. Your car is parked for the duration in a secure parking area and returned to you upon arrival.
Morning flights usually mean an early start. Why not get a good nights sleep the night before and book a hotel at the airport. We can book this in addition to your airport parking and possibly save you more money!

Marine travel bookings are received directly from vessels or Marine Personnel departments. We will work within your company travel policy guidelines. All ticketing is crossed checked to ensure accuracy and reports are run at the end of each day to ensure all necessary tickets have been issued. Unused ticket refunds are monitored regularly to ensure they have been paid promptly.
