AmaPrima Ship Visit

Ship

The beautiful exterior, impressive, clean and classic design stood out amongst other ships docked - a real eye catcher and clear to see why AmaPrima was named as the “Best River Cruise Ship in Europe”. The interior is stylish and spacious with a very pleasing décor, completely spotless and sparkling.

Cabin

I stayed in the smallest of the twin balcony cabins (sqft-wise) and found it to be incredibly spacious, with beautiful décor and modern amenities. A generous-sized, well lit bathroom complimented the style of the bedroom and comprised of plenty of storage space, luxurious toiletries and powerful shower. The inclusion of a twin balcony in this cabin did not comprise any space - in fact, in made the cabin feel much larger due to the beautiful natural daylight flooding in from the floor to ceiling windows.

Food

The Main Restaurant has an idyllic setting towards the forward of the Cello Deck. The food is incredibly aesthetically pleasing, with a great variety of dishes on offer. Everything is immaculately presented and equally as delicious. Exceptional wine pairings are on offer also. An impressive offering at breakfast of sweet and savoury pastries, fruit, salmon, breads, hot buffet, yoghurts and cereals.

Entertainment

The evening entertainment was subtle, pleasing and hugely enjoyable. A string quartet filled the Main Lounge with beautifully traditional and classical Dutch music as we enjoyed pre-dinner cocktails. At other times a pianist will play beautiful music as you sit and watch the world go by - a really beautiful way to enjoy the aesthetics of river cruising. The evening entertainment varied between live music, an entertaining presentation from the Cruise Director and dancing.

Overall experience

The highlight of my time on board AmaPrima was without doubt the exceptional service from each and every member of staff I came across. From restaurant to concierge to housekeeping and even those behind the scenes, all members of staff were beautifully knowledgeable, polite, very well presented, always available and nothing was ever too much trouble. The ship was beautiful, as was the food and I would highly recommend the AmaPrima for anyone looking to enjoy the Rhine in luxury.
