When choosing your next cruise, one of the main aspects to look at is the choice of dining facilities. For the foodies out there, we’ve comprised a list of some of the best fine dining restaurants at sea, making the choice just that little bit easier.
Tuscan Grille, Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity Cruises' Tuscan Grille is an authentic steakhouse that serves up a wide selection of traditional Italian-inspired cuisine with a contemporary twist. The chefs on board use innovative techniques and bold flavours to make sure you get the best culinary experience possible.
When entering Tuscan Grille, you’ll be welcomed by plush interiors, warm colours and a friendly atmosphere. You will be accompanied by an expert sommelier, who’ll help recommend to you the perfect wine that complements your meal. Whether you choose homemade pasta or a dry-aged steak, you’re sure to find the perfect glass of wine to go with it.
Here you can enjoy endless views out to sea, due to the floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding the brightly lit venue. So grab a table near the window if you can.
Remy, Disney Cruise Line
The most luxurious restaurant across all Disney Cruise Line’s ships is Remy and it’s only on board Disney Dream. It serves beautifully crafted French-inspired cuisine by the talented Scott Hunnel and Michelin Starred chef, Arnaud Lallement.
Your dining experience will start off with a nice, cold glass of Champagne, while you browse over the excellent menu, showcasing both chefs’ extraordinary cooking skills. You won’t know which tasting course to choose from, as they all incorporate different aspects from the land and sea. You will have the option to indulge in speciality dishes including Kobe beef and lobster, all accompanied by fresh ingredients.
Extra services are also included in your one-of-a-kind dining experience, including an extensive wine list, delicious cheese trolley and after-dinner coffee menu.
Asian Market, MSC Cruises
On board MSC Seaview and MSC Seaside, you’ll discover the Asian Market, which consists of three different venues: Sushi, Pan Asian and Teppanyaki. You won’t know which one to choose first.
All three venues were designed by Roy Yamaguchi, an award-winning chef who’s famous for his creative fusions of European, Hawaiian and Japanese foods. The Sushi Food Bar combines Japanese heritage with fresh ingredients to make delicious sushi rolls. Served up in The Pan Asian Restaurant is a wide range of dishes, all bursting with bold flavours that’ll dance on your taste buds.
The final Japanese-inspired venue is the Teppanyaki Restaurant, where you can watch expert chefs prep and cook your meal, right in front of your eyes. Different wines are recommended for the different meals by the sommelier, helping to complement the bold flavours. Music is played during the cooking process to add to the element of entertainment.
Sabatini’s, Princess Cruises
Have you ever wanted to visit a classic Italian trattoria? Well now you can on board five Princess Cruises ships. Here at Sabatini’s, you can indulge in handmade pasta dishes designed by Angelo Auriana, the executive chef for The Factory Kitchen and Officine BRERA in Los Angeles.
Guests can also choose from a large selection of seafood dishes including lobster and shrimp, muscles and scallops, as well as beautifully cooked meats from pork belly to chicken breasts flavoured with northern Italian herbs and spices. The interior of Sabatini’s takes on a more contemporary look that reflects the innovative ideas. However, rustic elements are scattered around to help reinforce the traditional features of the trattoria.
To complement your tasty meal, Italian cocktails and wines will be served.
150 Central Park, Royal Caribbean
If you choose to cruise with Royal Caribbean on one of their Oasis Class cruise ships, you must visit 150 Central Park, an open air restaurant with grass and trees that make it feel as though you’re in New York’s very own Central Park.
Award-winning chef, Michael Schwartz helped to design the restaurant’s six-course menu, bringing in distinctive flavours from America to help complement the sumptuous menu options. Locally sources ingredients are used within each taster meal and accompany the main element perfectly, whether it be a dry-aged steak or grilled pork loin. During each course, you will be given a different choice of wine by the sommelier.
This seasonal menu means your six individual courses will be different depending on the time of year you choose to sail – so pick wisely.
