Krakow's magical atmosphere and rich cultural life make for a perfect break at any time of the year. The historic centre is home to famous sights like the Royal Castle, St Mary's Basilica and Jewish Quarter, which has been added to the UNESCO's World Heritage list and is considered to be one of the most beautiful showpieces of Eastern Europe. In the special atmosphere of the mysterious streets, legendary beer cellars, vibrant cafes, pubs and restaurants, you will find everything you need to allow you to escape from everyday life.

Krakow, situated in the valley of Vistula River, also offers a truly authentic winter holiday experience. Whether you're into skating, skiing, sledging or just enjoying the scenery, you'll find all of that in Krakow and the surrounding cosy mountain villages. It is an ideal place to visit if you want to enjoy winter without the crowds and commercialism.

Old Town

A UNESCO World Heritage Site with the spectacular Main Market Square (Rynek Glowny), Royal Castle and magnificent churches.

Wawel Castle

Not only Krakow's most famous attraction but also one of Europe's most beautiful royal residences.

St. Mary's Church (Kosciol Mariacki)

Traditionally the temple of choice for the citizens of Poland, this is also the most famous of all Poland's churches.

Krakow Tour

Begin by visiting the Jewish District of Kazimierz, followed by a short drive to Wawel Hill - the embodiment of Poland's former monarchical glory. At its summit lies the Royal Castle and a 14th-century cathedral which hosted nearly all the Polish monarchy's coronations and funerals. Having descended the hill, stroll along Kanonicza and Grodzka streets to Collegium Maius (Great College), the oldest building of the Academia Cracoviensis. Next, it's on to the Main Market Square. This bustling heart of the city is the perfect place for picking up souvenirs, especially in the Cloth Hall which has been the local market place for centuries. Complete your tour by visiting St Mary's Church, where the stunning medieval altar sculpted by Veit Stoss is located and a bugle call sounds towards the four corners of the world every hour on the hour. Price of the tour is £30pp.

Auschwitz tour

A chilling reminder of past times. During the years 1940-1945, this was the biggest Nazi concentration camp in occupied Europe. Situated in the town of Oswiecim, around 70km from Krakow, the Auschwitz Memorial Museum (founded in 1947) was included in the UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1979. During the tour, you will visit both parts of the museum and will also watch a documentary on the history of the camp. Price of tour is £30pp.
