Constance (or Konstanz as it is spelt in German) is the largest town of the Lake Constance area and is characterised by the German-Swiss border that runs through it. The picturesque Old Town has many historic buildings and quaint alleyways and is overlooked by the majestic Münster Cathedral. The city is traditionally engaged in all sorts of cultural activities and with museums, the theatre and the philharmonic orchestra, Constance has been a high-class cultural centre in the region for many years.
