Itinerary

Day 1 - London - Hanover Begin with a trip to Hanover, the state capital of Lower Saxony. Hanover offers a wide range of attractions and places of interest including various museums, theatres and art galleries. The beautiful Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen - a jewel of Baroque garden architecture - are a must see. From the lively city centre with its extensive pedestrian zone and elegant arcades, to the quaint narrow streets and half-timbered houses of the charming old town, Hanover is a dynamic city of many dimensions.
Day 2 - Hanover On your second day in Hanover, you will have plenty of time to explore the city centre. Follow the 4.2 km 'Red Thread', a red line painted onto the pavement; an excellent way to explore Hanover's main sights.
Day 3 - Hanover to Wernigerode Arrive in Wernigerode, known as 'the Colourful Town' due to the cheerful paintwork on its half-timbered buildings. The town is one of the most atmospheric destinations in the Harz region. During your three day stay, you will have plenty of opportunity to explore the surrounding area.
Day 4 & 5 - Wernigerode See the impressive Town Hall with its timber-framed architecture. The magnificent building's wooden ornamental figures depict saints and artisans. Visit Wernigerode Castle or go shopping in the traditional town centre shops. We highly recommend travelling with the Brockenbahn steam locomotive up the winding 19km-route to the summit of the legendary Brocken Mountain (1,142m), the highest peak in northern Germany. Enjoy this nostalgic tour as well as the wonderful panoramic views over the Harz National Park. After exploring Wernigerode and its surroundings, why not take a day excursion to the picturesque town of Goslar in the western Harz.
Day 6 - Wernigerode to Cologne Your journey continues on to your last stop, the carnival city of Cologne, one of Germany's oldest cities and famous for historic sites such as the Gothic Cologne Cathedral.
Day 7 - Cologne to London Return journey from Cologne to London.
