Cannes Film Festival

As one of the most glitzy and glamorous events in the world, the Cannes Film Festival is where everybody wants to be seen. Whilst it is only the elite from the film industry that is invited to this prestigious event, where new films from a range of genres are premiered, you can still visit this fantastic city during this time to experience the star-studded atmosphere. Celebrities flock to this part of the world during the festival and so there’s the chance you could get to mingle with some of them on the streets.

The Cannes Film Festival, albeit under a different name, has been running since 1947 and that means 2017 will mark the 70th anniversary of this important showcase for the movie world. The event is due to take place between the 17th and 28th of May, 2017.

Why not combine your trip with a visit to nearby Monte Carlo, the playground of the rich and famous. This is another place you may end up rubbing shoulders with celebrities as you sample the renowned casinos, soak up the sun on the beach and admire the multi-million-pound yachts in the harbour.
