If you’re looking to explore the great outdoors, there are few better places in Europe to visit than the Jungfrau Region of Switzerland. Dominated by the three peaks of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, this part of the world will leave you constantly in awe of your surroundings. Even if you ignore the fantastic Jungfraujoch see below), which you most certainly shouldn’t, you can still fill your days with skiing, hiking, tobogganing, fat biking, tubing and a plethora of other exciting activities. The first choice for many people when it comes to establishing a base is Interlaken. Situated in the heart of the Jungfrau, the town offers some fantastic hotels that bring the scenery to your window from the moment you wake up. It takes its name from the fact that it sits between two lakes – Thun and Brienz – and is the jumping off point (sometimes literally) for many of the thrilling pursuits.
