I have visited over 45 Christmas Markets and there a few that stand out. Dresden is a particularly good experience, as the markets there ooze tradition. There are some unusual markets, for example, Wartburg Castle offers an impressive setting and there are items on sale that I have never seen at other Christmas markets. For a first-time experience of Christmas markets, I would recommend traditional favourites such as Cologne, Munich, Berlin, Bremen and Hamburg – all of which offer a good starting point. Frankfurt also has a very small but beautiful market and it is also ideally placed to allow further travel to the markets of Mainz and Wiesbaden.
I started working for Fred.\ Holidays in January 2013, but I have 25 years of experience in selling holidays.
My area of expertise would have to be European holidays. For 28 years, I’ve been selling holidays to Germany, Austria and Switzerland especially. I also represent the Hotel Jardín Tecina and Tecina Golf in the UK and Ireland and have visited the island of La Gomera on many occasions. I am still in awe of the natural beauty and unspoilt landscape.
