Ostend has something to offer people with all interests and preferences with five wonderful beaches, shopping facilities and historic buildings. The Ostend City Pass gives you free or discounted access to museums and other attractions including the North Sea aquarium or the amazing Earth Explorer Museum, where people of all ages can discover the four elements of earth, water, fire and wind.

After a long day on the beach or sight-seeing, the impressive seafront invites guests to relax in the beautiful cafés and restaurants, which serve fresh fish from the North Sea. Bruges, which is also highly recommended, is very close to the seaside town and easily reachable by train in about 15 minutes.

If you wish to stay elsewhere on your Belgium holiday, we can also help you arrange a fantastic Bruges city break or book hotels in Antwerp.

The Earth Explorer Museum explores everything to do with the four elements of earth, water, fire and wind. It is like a science-based theme park with over 50 interactive experiments and a separate Discovery Room where the staff will have an answer to (nearly) all questions.

The beautiful Japanese Garden "Shin Kai Tei" allows visitors to take a relaxing walk in a peaceful environment.

Ostend's Northern See Aquarium features a collection of fossils, shells and dried and stuffed sea creatures as well as 13 aquariums of marine animals and fish from the North Sea, the Channel and the Irish Sea.

The Venetian Galleries, a former seaside residence of the royal family, is now an exhibition hall, theatre and art gallery.

The Casino Ostend is one of the city's highlights for an evening out. Roulette, Black Jack, different dice games and, of course, gambling machines are available. A special beginner-package gives tourists an insight into the game of luck.

The Tao Lounge Bar is a successful mix of bar, restaurant and club. The menu consists of a wide range of specialities from all over the world.

The Beluga shows that a Belgian kitchen contains more than just chocolate and waffles. On the menu, guests will find various kinds of fresh fish from the North Sea, as well as meat and wonderful desserts.

The famous Ostender Keytebier (regional beer) is available in many of the pubs and bars in the city.

The kapellestraat is the most important shopping street in Ostend. This street, consisting of chain stores and boutiques, leads off in all directions to further small shopping area.

Another tourist draw is Adolf Buylstraat where you can find designer clothing, shoes and accessories.

The Shopping Center Feest- en Kultuurpaleis is a former palace of culture and events and now provides different shops for all requirements.
