See OfFers About 40 miles up the River Weser, where the river empties into the North Sea, you'll find the relatively new city of Bremerhaven. Literally meaning 'Bremen's Harbour', this important port has a long maritime history and is a great place to visit on a day trip from Bremen. Major attractions such as the German Emigration Center, the Climate House 8° East, the German Maritime Museum and the Zoo at the Sea can all be found within the newly revitalised Havenwelten district. Why not head up to the viewing platform at the top of Atlantic Hotel SAIL City for fantastic views of the city and out to sea.
The Shop Window Fishery Harbor is another area worth checking out. Along this mile of restaurants, bars and other attractions, you will be able to sample some of the fresh fish caught in Bremer Haven. You can also learn about the trawlermen of the past on board the ship 'FMS Gera' and even see how to prepare your own fish at home in the Seafish Cooking Studio.
