What’s New At Europa-Park?
Back in 2015, we took a visit to Europa-Park and returned raving about our experience. Since then, though, there have been plenty of exciting additions.

Back in 2015, we took a visit to Germany’s largest theme park, Europa-Park, and returned raving about our experience. Since then, though, there have been plenty of exciting additions to this attraction in Rust, just outside of Freiburg, on the border with France, so we thought we would update you on what new surprises await.

Europa-Park is a great alternative to Disneyland Paris, offering 15 enchanting ‘worlds’, each themed on a different European country. There is so much to see and do for people of all ages and it’s only a short flight away. Plus, the five themed hotels offered by the resort add to the magic of your stay and ensure you don’t miss a thing.

So, what’s new?

VR Experiences

Pegasus VR Ride

Europa-Park has championed VR technology for a number of years now, with the Mack family (owners of Europa-Park and creators of theme park rides worldwide) working closely with VR Coaster to create new and exciting adventures.

At the time of writing, there are three different virtual reality experiences to look forward to, with two taking place on the Alpenexpress and another on Pegasus. Both of these rides are family-friendly and the VR matches perfectly with the rollercoaster in order to give you a smooth journey through these virtual worlds. There is also a Coastiality app which can be downloaded to your smartphone so you can get a taster for what to expect. VR rides have a small charge of €2pp.

Voletarium

The latest attraction at Europa-Park is the brand new ride, Voletarium. Having opened in June, it is described as Europe’s largest flying theatre and takes you on a journey over the rooftops of major cities around the continent. It tells the story of two brothers trying to make their dream of flying a reality and uses 4D effects to make it feel like you are actually soaring through the air.

Mack Media has also created a mobile game, available to download on Android or iOS, which closely matches the story of the ride.

Traumatica

Halloween

As Halloween approaches, Europa-Park is planning a horror extravaganza from the end of September until the beginning of November. As darkness falls, guests will be guided to an eerie area of the park and be faced with a choice of five different haunted houses. ‘Shadows’, ‘Ghouls’, ‘The Fallen’, ‘The Pack’ and ‘The Resistance’ all offer unique and chilling experiences designed to scare you out of your wits. Combination tickets can be bought for the theme park during the day and Traumatica in the evening, so ask a member of our team if you are booking a stay during this period.

New Shows

One of the big appeals of Europa-park is that it has plenty of reasons to visit even if you are not a fan of rollercoasters. As well as the white knuckle rides, there is a large number of shows and events happening throughout the day which either provide a nice break between rides or make up the majority of your time.

New additions include ‘Happy Family’, a show about the Wünschmann family who are turned into monsters by a witch, on the live stage in the Italian area and ‘The Secrets Of Gravity’ in the Greek area, in which a boy and his pet robot take a trip to the moon. There’s also an exhibition about the Monaco Grand Prix in the Mercedes-Benz Hall and the Europa-Park Arena has recently been built to host live music concerts and other events.

Coming Soon: Water Adventure Resort

water Park

OK, so this isn’t a new addition just yet, but it is certainly an exciting project that should be open in time for the summer season of 2019. On a patch of land that measures approximately 113 acres, work is underway to build a waterpark based on a Nordic theme and featuring water slides, lazy rivers, a wave pool and much more.

There will be inside and outside areas, giving up to 500 guests the chance to sunbath in a region which receives the highest number of sunshine hours in the whole of Germany. A sixth themed hotel will also be built to resemble a Scandinavian harbour town and create a relaxing and inviting atmosphere.

If you would like to visit Europa-Park at the end of 2017 or in 2018, we can help put together the perfect package. We are a preferred partner for the park in the UK and can help you book flights, accommodation, tickets and more. Call us on 0800 988 3369 for more information.
