Great Yarmouth welcomes Seabourn Quest
The Norfolk seaside town becomes the newest addition to the list of British cruise ports and there are plans for plenty more visits throughout 2018 and 2019.

More recent years have seen the list of UK ports expand, with additions including Hull, Southend, Poole and Cardiff. Some of these ports are open to holidaymakers looking to board the ship and embark on a holiday across the seas, while others are open purely to day visitors on selected sailings.

Great Yarmouth has become the latest in a range of ports to join this list, with passengers aboard Seabourn's Seabourn Quest being able to experience the Norfolk seaside town. Known for being home to golden beaches, two piers offering family entertainment and traditional seaside flair, cruise passengers from around the world enjoyed a taste of the British coast. The ship docked into the harbour on Saturday 30th June at around 7 am before departing again at 6 pm the same day.

Seabourn Quest docked into Great Yarmouth's Outer Harbour last weekend on a tour of the British Isles and Northern Europe. As part of the overall experience in Great Yarmouth, guests will be able to embark on a unique coach tour and visit a number of attractions including the Time and Tide Museum, and the Golden Mile.

Speaking to ITV News, Great Yarmouth's Deputy Mayor, Kerry Robinson-Payne, said: “This will be the first time that some of our American visitors have experienced a traditional British seaside, and we've laid on a special, action-packed itinerary to showcase our rich history and fun attractions.”

Port Director, Richard Goffin, said: “The cruise industry in the UK is going from strength to strength, which makes it a key sector for us to expand into at Great Yarmouth and market it as a destination for cruise operators.”

The ultra-luxurious ship offers spacious accommodation options, comfortable lounges and a plethora of gourmet dining options that will transport passengers to a truly opulent style of travel. The ship is also much smaller than most other cruise ships, with 335 crew members catering to the requests of a maximum capacity of 450 passengers.

She will be followed, in September 2018, by the arrival of Seabourn Quest's sister ship, Seabourn Ovation - a slightly larger ship with capacity for 604 passengers. This will subsequently be followed by the return of Seabourn Quest in July 2019, when the ship returns to the British Isles once again.

This summer will see a number of cruise ships embarking on sailings out of the UK, with passengers able to depart from a range of ports to destinations including the Mediterranean, Baltic Nations, Norwegian Fjords, Canary Islands, and beyond.
