3 Summer Holidays With A Difference
23rd July 2015

Many people will be jetting off to spend some time on a beach or within a city centre this summer, which are both excellent ways to escape life's daily routines and recharge the batteries for a while. However, if you are looking for something a bit more adventurous, our new discover options may be perfect.

All three of these trips allow you to immerse yourself in the destination and get a true insight into what life is like in that part of the world. From walking in Italy to exploring the 'land of fire and ice', you're next adventure starts here.

Walking Trails of Lake Garda

Torbole Lake Garda

Lake Garda is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque parts of Italy. The breathtaking lake is surrounded by craggy mountains, lush forests and quaint little towns like Nago, Limone and Malcesine. During your trip, you will get the chance to explore these and more, as you travel by boat, cable car and your own two feet.

In between the walking, there will be many chances to learn about the local history and taste some of the area's delicious food and wine. From 16th century forts to breath-taking waterfalls, you'll discover a wealth of natural and manmade wonders. These fertile lands are perfect for growing vines and olives, so you are sure to get an authentic taste of this part of Italy.

Discover Iceland

Haifoss Waterfall Iceland

Iceland's nickname, 'the land of fire and ice', goes some way to telling you what you can expect from this fantastic island, but there is so much more waiting to be unearthed. This particular trip offers the chance to spend seven nights here, as you stay in a mixture of hotels, guesthouses and farm accommodation. It mainly focusses on the south of Iceland, which is the home of the country's most impressive volcanoes.

Nature certainly takes centre stage here and you may struggle to believe your eyes when you see the spectacular show it puts on. You'll get up close and personal with waterfalls, geysers and the local wildlife. A definite highlight of the itinerary has to be day four when you visit two of Iceland's most striking waterfalls, a reconstructed Viking farmhouse and the serene Gjain Canyon. The awe-inspiring sights certainly come thick and fast on this adventure.

Amalfi Coast: Pompeii & Pizza

Mount Vesuvius

The Amalfi Coast is a popular part of southern Italy which offers a great climate and even better experiences. This trip will focus on tasting some authentic cuisine, but there will also be the chance to explore both Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii. It is a 7-night itinerary that includes direct flights from London to Naples with British Airways.

Along the way, your taste buds will be tingled with samples of traditional mozzarella and Neapolitan pizza, which you will get to make yourself. Your other senses will also be indulged, as you feast your eyes on sights such as the picturesque town of Positano, the powerful crater at the top of Mount Vesuvius and the beautiful island of Capri. There will also be a chance to soak up some amazing views of the Amalfi Coast as you walk along a section of the 'Path of the Gods'.

We have a fantastic range of Discover holiday options that can offer out of this world experiences. If you would like to know more about the trips mentioned above, or any of the other itineraries we have available, call our team today.
