Alpine Hiking Adventure
What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The first day we reached the Aiguilette des Possettes--a real accomplishment for the group! We ate lunch looking across the valley to the Mont Blanc range and its glaciers.
What did you think of your group leader?
Mark was an outstanding group leader. He was knowledgeable, passionate, humorous, and intuitive about the needs of our group. He knew when to challenge each of us, and when we desperately needed a rest!
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
A good level of fitness (and some experience hiking) is recommended. The trails are often very steep, somewhat narrow, and occasionally run along the edge of a significant drop-off. That said, our leader knew the trails well and prepared us for each segment. The best preparation is probably climbing lots and lots of stairs!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Rich and Sarah were terrific hosts. The chalet was clean and comfortable, and Sarah's cooking was absolutely outstanding. We enjoyed every cake she baked for our tea, every appetizer, every main course, and every dessert. She is a gifted chef! It's hard to believe that the meals on this trip can compete with the scenery for top honors, but they do! In addition, Rich and Sarah were very friendly, enthusiastic about the hiking, and knowledgeable about the area. We are so grateful to them for their hospitality!
