MOSCOW TO ST PETERSBURG
What did you think of your group leader?
Bob was great, an excellent translator, tried really hard to get things for us and to improve on the legendary terrible Russian service is restaurant. Managed to stay calm and helpful when there was a bit of contention over the itinerary
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Don't expect good service anywhere, If you happen across some be surprised and grateful. Most Russians are very grumpy not only to tourists but to everyone, don't take it personally. Take really good walking shoes, you will walk a lot
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The itinerary on the website was not followed on the tour and because of this we missed out on a lot of things in Moscow. If the itinerary on the web was followed we would have had a much nicer time and let us enjoy the major sights properly. The museums and a lot of other sights not open in Mondays so giving us a free day on Monday is a big waste of time, we would have been much better to go to the Kremlin then as it is much quieter then. We wasted a lot of time in Novgorod. The Kremlin there is interesting but that is it. And the hotel there is horrible We could have caught a later evening bus to Pushkin giving us a whole day there rather than wasting most Of it on traveling. This would then give 3 nights in St Petersburg which would be much better than only having 1 full day there.
