What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

St Basil's Catherdral was absolutely breathtaking both inside and out. It was well worth the entry fee to go inside. We saw James May from Top Gear filming outside and he let us take some photos of him which made it even more memorable!! lol  Catherine The Great's Palace was stunning and The Hermitage museum in St Petersberg was amazing (but so huge I only managed to do the 2nd floor) Some of the Metro stations are amazing too.

What did you think of your group leader?

Bob was great. Spoke excellent English and was very socialable and knowledgable. Made the effort to get to know every member of our very big group of 20 people.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Try to be as fit as you can because you walk.....and walk......and walk!! It's the first place I have been to (this is my 7th Exodus trip and I have travelled with Trek America and Oz Exposure) where I was warned it would be expensive and it was!! If/when you do the Matrouska (Russian) dolls in Pushkin THE FACES ARE ALREADY ON THE DOLLS. I didn't do this activity as I'm not artistic at all but if I had known this info I would have done it as the 5 members of my group that went all said how great it was and their dolls (you get 3) all looked brilliant!!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

It's very important that the trip notes reflect the trip. I felt I was on a completely different tour!! It's not fair on the tour leader that they are wrong. All the local guides were good and apart from Novgorod ,all the hotels were good. Get people to check in online rather than at St Petersberg airport, which only had one desk open for each airline to book in!! Limit the size of the groupto 14. 20 is way too big for a week tour.
