What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Walking in the footsteps of the residents of Herculaneum of 79AD and almost expecting to meet one round the next corner. Also scrambling round the crater of Vesuvius, it looks exactly what a volcano should look like.

What did you think of your group leader?

Friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

This trip is rated 'leisurely' but we actually did quite a lot of walking, which was fine, frequently up and down. The cliff walks, the volcano, Capri and the small towns involved many steps or steep slopes that require moderate fitness to enjoy.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

This was a great way to see the many different and varied aspects of this famous area - Herculaneum & Pompeii, Vesuvius,  the coastal 'walk of the gods', the tourist jewels of Amalfi & Capri and the historic city of Naples - while staying in a small friendly hotel in a typical hillside village away from  the crowds. Doing it all in one week, without knowing the area and without seeming rushed, could only have been done with the Exodus organisation and leader behind us.
