"I have recently joined Fred.\ River Cruises as the Head of Sales. My initial aim is to raise the Fred.\ River Cruises profile and awareness within the UK travel trade and help them understand what a truly diverse range of products we can offer and the first class service we can provide to our partners.
Although new to Fred.\ River Cruises, my background in travel stretches back 20 years. After spending some time living in America, I caught the travel bug early on and subsequently I started my travel career in the UK with Virgin Atlantic, employing and training the new recruits in reservations, sales, fares and ticketing. I then moved from planes to trains, where I set up a customer service academy for Midland Mainline Trains based in the Midlands. I then had the chance to set up a training academy for Royal Caribbean/Celebrity and Azamara Club Cruises. I spent 12 years working for this wonderful cruise brand looking after the UK travel trade in training and latterly sales. I then had the opportunity to bring a new luxury, boutique, river cruise line – Uniworld – to the UK Market. This gave me experience in the luxury side of travel and enhanced my large ocean ship knowledge gained at RCCL with knowledge of the incredible world of river cruising.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to visit many places across the world. However, I have been so surprised and delighted to have fairly recently had the chance to experience the wonders of Europe (especially Germany), which is just on our doorstep. I am also trying out “family” holidays for myself now (having a 4 year-old boy), so this is only adding to my knowledge and experience."
