Vienna Jazz Festival

As a city which showcases the arts more than most, it’s no surprise that Vienna hosts one of the best annual jazz festivals in the world. Since 1991, people have been coming to Austria’s capital from far and wide to enjoy the music of established musicians and those who are on their way to the top. With venues all over the city centre, some of which even offer free entry, there is sure to be something for every jazz fan.

In recent years, the genre has diversified to include rock and pop performers too, but the heart and soul of this much-loved celebration will always be in the world of jazz. Past performers have included Burt Bacharach, Jamie Cullum and newcomer Kamasi Washington. The festival usually takes place at the end of June and beginning of July and lasts for two weeks.
