All breakfasts and 5 dinners are included, two of which will be a picnic dinner in the evening of Day 5 and a generous wine and produce tasting on day 3. In the itinerary we state which meals are included on which day. Please note that the diet in this part of Sicily is heavily dependent on fish and meat. However, vegetarian options are widely available. Breakfast: usually a continental style buffet. Lunch: normally a pic-nic or taken in local cafes.

The terrain on all the volcanoes can be steep and uneven underfoot with lots of loose ash and other material. Walking poles can help you steady yourself and also take some of the pressure off your knees. Although not compulsory, they are recommended for this trip. It is strongly recommended that you wear gaiters to help keep the ash out of your walking boots during the optional climbs of Mt Etna and Stromboli so that you don't have to keep stopping to empty them.
