In Bremen you can discover things like historical galleries and museums with historical sculptures. Arrival into Hamburg and pick up of your rental car at the airport. If time permits, why not visit the beautiful city of Hamburg, whose port is one of the most important in the world.
This morning, travel to Bremen, where you can visit the wonderful town hall and the statue of Roland, the cathedral and old fishing district of Schnorr. Here the Route of the Fairy Tales begins and this is also the place where one of the most famous tales has its origins, the Bremen Town Musicians. From May to September the tale is performed next to the town hall every Sunday.
Today pass by several beautiful villages including, Verden, famous for its horses, Nienburg with its historic center and Rinteln, the city of castles. Arrive in to Hameln where the tale of the Pied Piper of Hameln originated. Every Sunday from May to September, there is a free performance telling its story.
Continue to Polle, known for the ruins of a castle where rumor says - Cinderella lived. Passing by beautiful villages like Höxter and Fürstenberg, you can also see the authentic castle of the Sleeping Beauty tale in Sababurg. Later, arrive in Kassel, where the brothers Grimm began to write their famous stories.
Today you have a full day to enjoy Kassel, with its small villages and beautiful landscapes where the Puss in Boots and Snow-white lived. Do not miss a visit of Göttingen, where the brothers Grimm have taught at the University.
Today, departure southwards for the city of Marburg. Along the way you can visit the House of Fairy Tales in Neukirchen and the region where the Little red Riding Hood was born in Schwalmstadt. Later, arrive in Marburg, one of the best preserved medieval towns in the country.
The first stop today has to be in Steinau, where the brothers Grimm lived and spent their childhood. En route to Frankfurt you can stop in Hanau, the native town of the Grimm brothers. If you travel between May and July, you can attend the Festival of Tales in Hanau.
If time permits you can visit Frankfurt before you return your rental car at the Frankfurt airport.
