The trip includes seven breakfasts, five picnic lunches and six evening meals. Evening meals are taken in the hotel and are arranged as a 'menu' for the whole group. The evening meal on your free day is not included, allowing you to experience local restaurants. Typical meals are usually: Breakfast: Orange juice, croissant, fresh French bread, butter, jam, coffee/tea. Lunch: Picnic lunches will consist of a filled baguette, fruit and mineral water. Evening meals: A first course of soup, or a starter (often salad or charcuterie); a main course usually with meat, sometimes fish, followed by a dessert. Corsica is famous for charcuteries and brocciu cheeses, fresh local herbs, gamey meats and fish, which usually feature in the evening meals. The evening meal does not include drinks. Vegetarians can be catered for, but please note that the options are more limited, with the evening meal normally pasta or omelette-based.

Day 1
Fly to Ajaccio
Fly to Ajaccio; transfer to Bocognano.
Day 2
Train to Tavera, walk menhir circuit and back to Bocognano.
The Bocognano region offers vast hiking opportunities and as such this itinerary is subject to change dependant on local conditions. We start todays' walks by taking the train West of Bocognano the village of Tavera. From here we will enjoy a woodland walk to the ancient Menhir (standing stone) and walk back to Bocognano.
Day 3
Poggio to Corte walk.
Take the train to the pretty village of Poggio. After a little exploration, start the walk through woodland to the historic city of Corte, which you wll have free time to discover this afteroon.
Day 4
Tattone walk with optional GR20 trail extension.
Today's walk takes us from the village of Tattone following a riverside trail to the village of Canaglia and back, with optional extensions to bathing pools or GR20 trails.
Day 5
Free day to relax, visit Ajaccio or Corte.
You have various options for your free day; you can relax around the hotel, travel further across the island or, if you wish, visit the coast. Ajaccio has beaches, shops and restaurants; you can visit the Musee Fesch (with its outstanding collection of Italian paintings), follow in the footsteps of Napoleon around the city or take a bus ride along the coast. The mountain town of Corte, the nationalist centre of the island, offers the spectacular sight of the citadel and an excellent collection in the museum highlighting Corsican culture, whilst the ambience of the cobbled streets, numerous fountains and chapels entices one back to the cafés and patisseries.
Day 6
Vizzavona to Bocca Palmente along GR20 trail.
One of the longer walks of the week, today we set off to Vizzavona where we enjoy a walk along the famour GR20 tracks to Bocca Palmente. This may be extended to Bergeries d'Alzeta and a high lake, depending on the weather.
Day 7
Walk from Bocognano to Richiusa.
Today's slightly more challenging route starts off from Bocognano and takes us up the valley to Richiusa and Ruisseau de Cardiccia before contouring along the canyon towards the Bergerie de Mattonu, where you will have a swimming opportunity before returning to Bocongnano .
Day 8
Fly to London
Transfer to Ajaccio; fly to London.

Our centre is the family-run 2-star Hotel Beauséjour in the heart of Bocognano. It overlooks the valley of the Gravona River and across to the spectacular granite face of the Monte d’Oro range. The shady grounds give you time and space to relax, and are only a few minutes walk from the small town bakeries, post office, restaurants, bar, general store, tourist office and local train station. Meals are taken in the spacious dining room in authentic 1930’s décor. There is a communal room for general use.
