Day 1
UK - Auxerre

This morning, depart Folkestone on the 08:20 Eurotunnel crossing, arriving in Calais 10:00 local time. Enjoy a lunchtime pause in Reims before the onward journey to Auxerre and an evening meal at a selected restaurant in Auxerre.

Day 2
Tonnerre - Flogny-la-Chapelle

Today take a guided visit Château de Tanlay, before lunch aboard and afternoon cruise on the Canal de Bourgogne from Tonnerre to Flogny-la-Chapelle. Evening meal at a selected restaurant in Auxerre.

Day 3
Flogny - St Florentin

Today we will cruise the Canal de Bourgogne from Flogny to St Florentin, enjoy lunch aboard before a guided afternoon visit to the UNESCO Fontenay Abbey. Evening meal at a selected restaurant in Auxerre

Day 4
St Florentin to Migennes

Today includes cruising on the Canal de Bourgogne from St Florentin to Migennes, with lunch aboard and an evening meal at La Beursaudière Restaurant at Nitry.

Day 5

This morning take a train transfer from Auxerre to Laroche-Migennes before spending the day cruising on the River Yonne from Migennes to Auxerre, evening meal in a selected restaurant.

Day 6
Auxerre - Champs-sur-Yonne

Today we will cruise the Yonne and Canal du Nivernais from Auxerre to Champs-sur-Yonne, with lunch aboard, before an afternoon visit to Caves de Bailly (home of Crémant de Bourgogne) and an evening meal at La Fontaine Restaurant at Accolay.

Day 7
Champs-sur-Yonne - Vermenton

Enjoy a cruise the Canal du Nivernais from Champs-sur-Yonne to Vermenton, with lunch aboard, before a scenic drive back to Auxerre via the viewpoint above Irancy.

Day 8

We stay on at the Hotel Normandie with option to relax all day Saturday in Auxerre or to use the good local train connections for private exploration. Straightforward destinations from Auxerre include Paris and Fontainebleau (no changes) or Dijon (one change, at Laroche-Migennes).

Evening meal will be left to guests' own choice in Auxerre – there are plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes stroll of the hotel and fine dining at Le Jardin Gourmand is immediately opposite.

Day 9

This morning, take a coach transfer to the hotel in Vermenton. Then cruise the Canal du Nivernais from Vermenton to Cravant and back downstream as far as Vincelles. Here we board the coach for the short hop to Escolives where we visit the important Roman Archaeological site at Éscolives. Sheltered canalside walk of around 5km back to Accolay, where the coach will await, or return direct with the coach for time to explore Vermenton. Evening meal at the hotel.

Day 10
Vincelles - Prégilbert

Today we cruise the Nivernais from Vincelles back upstream to Prégilbert, enjoy lunch canalside at the Écluse des Dames before an afternoon visit to a wine cave in Chablis for a presentation and tasting and evening meal at the Fontaine Restaurant at Accolay.

Day 11
Prégilbert - Mailly-le-Ville

Today's cruise takes us along the Nivernais from Prégilbert to Mailly-le-Ville, with lunch aboard and a guided afternoon visit to Guédelon Castle, before taking an evening meal at the hotel.

Day 12
Mailly-le-Ville - Châtel-Censoir

We head first to Mailly-le-Château for the viewpoint overlooking the river and canal, then cruise the Nivernais from Mailly-le-Ville to Châtel-Censoir, with lunch aboard at Les Rocher du Saussois. This afternoon we visit the prehistoric limestone Caves d'Arcy before an evening meal at the Abbaye de Reigny with local jazz band.

Day 13

Take a guided visit this morning to the UNESCO-listed Basilica at Vézelay, then cruise the Nivernais from Châtel-Censoir to Coulanges-sur-Yonne, evening meal at hotel in Vermenton.

Day 14
Coulanges - Clamecy

This morning, take a local train from Cravant (dep 09:34) to Coulanges (arr 10:05), then cruise the Nivernais from Coulanges to Clamecy. Enjoy lunch on board in Clamecy with time to explore the medieval centre, before our final evening meal at La Beursaudière Restaurant at Nitry.

Day 15
Clamecy - UK

The coach departs 09:00 to return home. Lunchtime stop in Reims or Laon. Expected arrival in Kent around 19:00 UK time.
