Hamburg Christmas Market
Hamburg is transformed into a fairy-tale Christmas city each November, with 15 specially themed Christmas markets. The Historical Christmas market in Rathausmarkt square harks back to Christmas past and each day all eyes turn to the sky as Father Christmas flies above the crowds on his sleigh. On each of the four Saturdays in Advent, people dressed as gnomes, angels and gingerbread men accompany seasonally decorated floats parading through the city centre. For those of you looking for something a little different, Hamburg is also home to Germany’s only ‘erotic’ market, complete with live music and variety acts.
This vibrant city on the waterfront is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. Marvellous cruise and container ships call at Hamburg’s port every day, a great attraction one should not miss. The incomparable Miniatur Wunderland, accommodating the world’s largest model railroad and the famous musical Disney’s The Lion King, offer great opportunities for visitors of all ages. In the city centre, international fashion labels invite you down elegant passageways where you can shop till you drop, and you can also experiencing the buzzing nightlife on the famous Reeperbahn, the ‘street of sins’.
There is no better way to experience the unique charm of this beautiful maritime city than with a trip on one of our Hamburg city breaks.
