Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler Christmas Market

Running each weekend Bad Neuenahr's Christmas market is a romantic getaway for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of the more popular towns. Arguably one of the most beautiful and festive Christmas markets in Germany, visitors will be easily overcome with the Christmas spirit and ambiance.

Experience the magic of the midnight Christmas market on December 12th, entirely lit by torchlight and set against a backdrop of half-timbered houses. Bad Neuenahr's Uferlichter festival also features thousands of lights around the Kurgarten Bridge on the river Ahr, making it a truly memorable experience.

Numerous stalls are decorated for the festive season are are set against the idyllic backdrop of the historic city. The stalls themselves offer a wide variety of gifts and food for you to enjoy including, handicrafts, small gifts, decorations and several culinary specialties like potato cakes, mulled wine, punch and roasted almonds.

There is plenty of opportunity for all members of the family to have fun, with a classic children's carousel being perfectly placed in the centre of the market, and a special visit from Santa Claus towards the end of the market every year.

Enjoy Christmas in the Ahr Valley, Germany's red wine paradise.
