Ruhpolding Lake & Mountain Holidays

Ruhpolding is the perfect holiday location nestled in the Bavarian Alps between Salzburg and Munich. The town provides a wide variety of holiday activities all year long in the midst of beautiful scenery. The locals' authentic lifestyle is reflected by their traditional dress, which they wear with pride. There are exciting summits to climb and valleys with many attractions to explore.

The three lakes area, referred to as "little Canada", is an inviting place to cool off with a refreshing swim after biking or hiking and the 18-hole golf course offers gorgeous views throughout. Because the Ruhpolding valley is sheltered from harsh winds, it is famous for its mild and sunny climate.

Ruhpolding offers hundreds of trails for the walker or cyclist that explore areas of outstanding scenic beauty that will never be forgotten. If you like to take in the scenery in a more leisurely fashion, you can take one of the mountain railways up the mountain. The Rauschbergbahn takes you to the peak of Rauschberg (1645m) where the summit offers stunning views over the Chiemgau Alps and Chiemsee.

The Unternberg offers spectacular views of the skiing area. Ruhpolding's most famous building is the Pfarrkirche St. Georg which is a good example of Bavarian Rococo. The town also boasts the 'Vita Alpina'; a fantastic pool/leisure complex with indoor and outdoor pools and water slides.

Don't miss the crystal clear water of the Königssee (King's Lake), where no motor boats have been allowed since 1909.
