Grossglockner

Standing at 3,798 metres above sea level, the Grosslockner is the highest mountain in Austria and within the east of the Alps. Take a hike through the High Alpine Road for views over this impressive mountain and the surrounding alps scenery. Reaching a height of 2,576 metres, this is not for the faint hearted.

 

Kaprun Castle

Towering majestically over the town is Kaprun Castle. Built in the 12th century, as what is presumed to be a fortress, the castle is still a forboding and stately presence to this day. Today the castle is a popular tourist attraction and event venue, being the host to the annual Medieval Festival among many others.
